The Challenge
Cape Cod Challenger Club runs Challenger Green, a program where people with special needs collect food waste from local schools, dehydrate it, and turn it into phosphate-free fertilizer. The fertilizer is carried by nurseries and garden centers across New England, and the club needed a way to sell it directly online.
The store had to do two jobs at once: make it easy to buy a bag of fertilizer, and tell the story of the program so customers understand that every purchase funds jobs and free programs.
What I Built
- A store on their existing Squarespace site so the club can manage products, orders, and shipping without a separate platform.
- Product pages for all three formulas (Tomato, All Purpose, and Hydrangea) with clear pricing and photos.
- Full-size product labels with directions and nutrient analysis, so gardeners can check what's in each bag before buying.
- A free shipping offer on orders of $60 or more to encourage larger orders.
- Mission storytelling that walks visitors from the food waste problem to job training to the finished product.
The Result
Challenger Green now has an online store where every sale directly supports the club's free programs. The page explains the program's impact while keeping checkout simple.
"Working with Cameron was wonderful. He listened to our needs and gave insightful feedback. He was thorough and quick to respond to all my questions. I would highly recommend him and the quality of his work."
